M&S software creates a reproduction of real-world processes over time and develops data as a basis for making managerial or technical decisions.
Vaeros provides independent VV&A of M&S software to objectively measure its reliability and credibility, and formally approve its resulting data for use in a particular application arena.

A program of verification and validation (V&V) activities tailored to a specific application increases confidence in M&S software by providing objective evidence of credibility.
Through rigorous testing protocols, Vaeros will scope the set of V&V tasks appropriate to an application and provide documentation of results, test artifacts, and feedback to the customer that enables accreditation and provides greater confidence in the system.
Invalid or incorrect M&S software can lead to corrupted system concepts and requirements, poor system design, inaccurate results, negative training, and in extreme cases, system failure.

Satisfy policy requirements.
Department of Defense (DOD) Instruction 5000.61 requires M&S software developed for the DOD to undergo VV&A processes; by extension, many other application domains require a similar accreditation process. Vaeros provides the expertise and capabilities to address these requirements with trusted performance.
For example, the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA) Office of Nonproliferation Research and Development selected Vaeros to participate in the VV&A effort of a software simulation that assesses the relative performance of space-based nuclear detection sensors and associated spacecraft constellation architectures.
Vaeros activities determined that the simulation implementation accurately represents the software developer’s conceptual descriptions and specifications; that the internal models provide an accurate representation of the real world from the perspective of its intended uses; and that the software could be certified as meeting all requirements and performance specifications while addressing security concerns and maintainability.
